Advent & Christmas

We look forward to welcoming you here at St Thomas Lymington for Advent & Christmas.

Our traditional Christmas Tree Festival returns this year, showcasing the spectcular trees decorated by businesses, charities and groups from across our town and parish.  A progamme of music and events occurs througout the festival, which once again is opened by Robins Choir from Lymington Infant School.  A café serves seasonal refreshments and there is the opportunity to stock up on decorations from the stall.

Advent Sunday marks the start of the church year.  At 5pm our Advent Carols service returns, in which St Thomas Choir and our organist Peter Roper-Curzon lead us in worship through traditional Advent Carols sung under the gentle lights of the Festival Christmas Trees.

On Saturday 14th, Lymington Choral Society are performing Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Christmas Carols, which proves to be a Christmas Spectuclar.  Book through Ticketsource to  secure your place.

On Sunday 22nd at 4pm, Nine Lessons and Carols returns this year, as anticipation builds towards Christmas.   A traditional service of readings and carols led by our choir, with the invitation to stay behind for mulled wine and mince pies.

On Christmas Eve join us with the family at 4pm for our Crib Service. It's the perfect way to set the scene for Christmas and a chance for the little ones  to dress as their favourite nativity character while we sing treasured Christmas carols.  For the night owls and those who like to celebrate Christmas at midnight, come along at 11.30pm to our Midnight Holy Communion 'Midnight Mass'.

Finally, at 10am on Christmas Day, we come together with family and friends to celebrate with Christmas Holy Communion!
